Major political clash in Rajnagar, 10 BJP and 7 CPI (M) supporters injured and hospitalized after unprovoked BJP attack on CPI (M) workers

A brazen and unprovoked attack by miscreants under the banner of BJP this morning led to a major clash between CPI (M) and BJP supporters in Raj Nagar area under Belonia subdivision . As a result 7 CPI (M) and 10 BJP supporters sustained injuries and had to be hospitalized.The CPI (M) MLA from Rajnagar Sudhan Das said that a FIR specifically naming BJP attackers had been registered with Rajnagar police station . 

Giving details of the clash official sources from Rajnagar said that , as scheduled, this morning a group of BJP workers led by MLA Sudhan Das and local leaders of the party had gone to CPI (M) party office near Rajnagar market on the occasion of the party's founding day observance. When they were returning home, having taken  part in the programme, a large group of BJP miscreants on motor bikes turned up on the road and started attacking the CPI (M) supporters with iron rods and clubs indiscriminately without any provocation . The CPI (M) supporters, taken aback initially at the sudden attack, picked themselves up and took iron poles fitted with flags in front of party office and hit back in full force. On the resultant clash ten BJP miscreants and seven CPI (M) supporters sustained injuries and had to be hospitalized in Belonia. The CPI (M) filed a FIR with the Rajnagar police station , naming the BJP workers and supporters including two local mafia elements Pranab Debnath and Samrat Chowdhury for the unprovoked attack. 

Speaking to on what happened this morning MLA Sudhan Das said that the attack was 'totally unprovoked and brazen'. "We have put up with a lot from the BJP miscreants over the past two and half years but no more ; from now on whenever they will come to attack our party workers and cadres will resist in full force ; What the BJP has been doing to us can not go on for ever; there has to be an end to this in the interest of democracy and rule of law in the state" said Sudhan in an agitated manner.
