Kanchanpur strike calls off after fruitful meeting with DM

Agartala, Feb. 26: Kanchanpur Nagarik Suraksha Manch and six other organizations have called off indefinite Kanchanpur subdivision strike following assurance from the administration last night.

The life was normal in the entire Kanchanpur, Dasda and Ananda Bazar as there was agitation or bandh today, said SP Bhanupada Chakrborty. All the 94 families who are sheltered in front of Ananda Bazar police station were given relief materials and will continue untill they get compensation.

Rattled by agitation in front of Ananda Bazar police station by non-tribal villagers, District Magistrate (DM0, North Raval H Kumar had a meeting with leaders of Suraksha Manch and other organizations in his office last evening.

In the meeting, the DM assured the agitator to call off indefinite strike and the government will restore relief materials. Side by side, the government will provide adequate compensation to all the violence hit non tribal villagers at the earliest.  After the fruitful meeting, Suraksha Manch called off indefinite strike and brought relief to the administration as well the people.
