Agartala, Jan 13: The four arrested NLFT militants- Ganga Reang, Singhamani Reang, Jiban Reang and Lalthanga Reang were sent to seven-day police custody by the Judicial Magistrate of Bishalgarh today.
The four militants were arrested from Takarjala yesterday and taken to NCC police station for interrogation. In course of interrogation, the police officials have got some important clues from the militants. The cops suspect they could give more inputs on the outfit’s revival bid ahead of the ADC elections.
As part of legal procedure, the four NLFT militants were produced before the Judicial Magistrate, Bishalgarh seeking seven-day police remand for further interrogation. Based on the plea, the magistrate allowed the police to keep their custody for interrogation.
Only few days back, the Inspector General (IG), BSF, Tripura Frontier Sushanta Kumar Nath has confirmed the outfit's revival attempt for the past one year. The abduction of three NPCC workers from Ganganagar and arrest of four NLFT militants from Takarjala are the indication of what the IG had told the media recently.
