First National Lok Adalat for 2022 on Jan 22 across state

Agartala, January 21, 2022: The National Lok Adalat for the year 2022 will be held on January 22 (Saturday) next across Tripura along with other parts of the country to resolve 19,405 pending cases by maintaining strict Covid guidelines.

The Member secretary Tripura State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA), Sanjoy Bhattacharjee  said that based on the directives of National Legal Service Authority, a total of 66 courts of Tripura including High Court  will resolve the pending cases of motor vehicle act and appeals cases, NI act, matrimonial cases, civil and criminal compoundable cases, family disputes, bank’s non-performing asset case, disposal of Traffic Chillan cases etc.

Sanjoy Bhattacharjee added that altogether 19,405 pending cases would be taken up in courts for disposal including 3226 cases of bank’s non-performing asset, 268 MACT cases, 10,818 traffic challan cases, 84 land dispute cases, 1,613 non-payment of BSNL bill cases, 2,757 appeals cases, 142 cases of matrimonial dispute,  440 cases of cheque bounce and 57 other cases would be taken up in the  66 courts across eight districts of the state including in Agartala.

Earlier, the summons and e-notices  to all the parties of these cases were issued by the respective courts and TSLSA has requested all concerned persons to remain present on the scheduled date in their respective courts for disposal of pending cases by maintain all Covid appropriate behaviours including maintenance of social distancing norms. TSLSA added that, law volunteers and para-legal volunteers will remain present in all courts to provide logistic support to all plaintiffs and defendants during the hearing of cases. The hearing for these cases will be held through physically or through direct appearances   and courts will start their functioning from morning 10 AM and will continue up to 4 PM on Saturday next.
