Despite a long series of incidents of violence all through the day and 'extremely partisan role played by presiding officers' to help the ruling IPFT and BJP, the ADC election came off today . The state election commission has not yet announced the final polling percentage but there are indications that the final polling percentage may be around  85% though the final announcement will be made later on.

The BJP spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty said in an interaction with the media that today's election came off more or less peacefully despite grave provocations and attempts at engineering violence by the opposition CPI (M) and 'Tipra Motha'. "In many incidents near polling booths BJP supporters, local leaders and voters were beaten up by the CPI (M) and Tipra Motha miscreants; as a result many of our local leaders and workers were injured but they kept their patience and did not retaliate; a section of polling officials actively collaborated with the opposition in falsifying the election and we have identified them ; we will file specific complaints with the state election commission" said Subrata Chakraborty, He expressed the hope that the BJP-IPFT combine will be able to secure a comfortable majority in the ADC and form the council.
The PCC president Pijush Biswas squarely blamed the BJP-IPFT for reducing the election to a 'farce by organized rigging' , prevention of voters from coming to booths and other forms of terror. He said that many booths Congress polling agents were driven out within two hours of the commencement of polling. "The most shameful role was played by the presiding officers, besides police, who did nothing to stop the malpractices of BJP and IPFT but people put up spontaneous resistance in many placed and cast their ballots; the BJP-IPFT combine was more busy to stop casting of votes than mobilizing their voters" said Pijush. He asserted that the people or voters in general have turned their faces away from the ruling BJP-IPFT combine and will not tolerate their nonsense any longer; neither the polling officials nor the police helped the voters. He said that after collecting detailed reports from all over the state the PCC will approach the state election commission for repoll in booths where it is required through a letter to the state election commission. He said that in most of the places the BJP and IPFT miscreants had brought non-tribal miscreants from outside ADC areas.
Meanwhile, in a major incidents symptomatic of failure of police functioning, common voters caught a vehicle in which BJP supporters were transporting arms in Purba Muhuripur-Bhuratoli ADC constituency. Despite being approached police did not act in the matter and the people caught the vehicle and recovered lethal primitive weapons and beat up three BJP miscreants before handing them over to police. The driver of the vehicle spilled the beans, saying he had been forced to carry the BJP trio and the weapons.

In yet another incident the CPI (M) polling agent had been pushed out of the booth no-62 under Mirza-Kathalia-Rajapur ADC constituency at 9-00 in the morning with the presiding officer remaining a silent spectator. After the agent had been forced to come out local BJP leader Manik Noatia threatened him with dire consequences. Similarly in front of the Tulakona forest range office booth no 57 under the Mirza-Kathalia-Rajapur constituency a large number of voters were sought to be stopped by BJP supporters , backed by outsider Bengalis. After putting up with the mischief for sometime the people sought police intervention but the police did nothing. Finally the voters turned violent and attacked the BJP miscreants and chased away . They also burnt down a number of motor bikes left behind by the BJP miscreants. Later SP (Gomati) and DM T.K.Debnath reached the spot and faced the angry mob .Amidst protests from the people the DM and SP were forced to assure people of help in time.
