The state BJP is deeply peeved by the coalition partner IPFT's inconsistent stand vis-à-vis poll understanding with regional forces like the newly formed 'TIPRASA' and INPT and firmly opposed to conceding twenty two seats demanded by the IPFT leadership, partner in the state’s coalition government. As disclosed by the BJP's 'Jana Jati Morcha' president and East Tripura MP Rebati Tripura said that the party leadership have summoned their IPFT counterparts for a crucial meeting this evening in the official residence of deputy chief minister Jishnu Debbarman. "In the meeting we will seek a clarification from the IPFT on what they are up to in regard to ADC election and whether they are agreeable to retaining alliance with BJP or joining the regional forces for the polls" said Rebati

He also made it clear that under no circumstances will BJP concede twenty two seats demanded by the IPFT in the  upcoming elections. On Sunday three senior IPFT leaders had met the deputy chief minister and held discussions in the course of which Mangal said that the IPFT's stand will be made clear by the party's veteran leaders in the meeting today. "In our meeting held in the residence of the deputy chief minister we discussed in detail the BJP's strategy and tactics for the ADC elections , we will have more meetings as the elections draw near" said Rebati.

Apart from this, Rebati described the 'Greater Twipraland' demand raised by former PCC president Pradyot Kishore and the regional conglomerate as 'not only unrealistic but also only a pipe dream' . He said that there are specific provisions in the Indian constitution on how a new state can be formed and even a cursory look at the provisions make it amply clear that constituting even a new state out of ADC areas is not a viable proposition and the concept of 'Greater Twipraland comprising Agartala and parts of Hailakandi and Karimganj districts in Assam's Barak Valley is not only a pipe dream but also ridiculous and it will never materialize.
