Covid: Single day highest fatalities with 14 deaths and 625 cases, overall positivity rate in AMC downed at 5.39 %

With daily soaring cases of COVID-19 with detection of the ‘Delta variant’ of Coronavirus, in a  biggest single day fatalities, altogether 14 persons were died  in the state and 625 more persons have contracted infection within past 24-hours.

Earlier, on May 28, 2021, the state has witnessed 13 deaths due to Covid infection, but on Wednesday suppressing all previous record of casualties, the monster Covid surged has claimed 14 deaths in the state and among the death persons, 11 were died in the Dedicated Covid hospital in GB Hospital complex and three other died in other health institutions of the state.

Meanwhile,  after a day of increasing trend in positivity rate of the capital city, the overall positivity rate again on the declining trend  and the positivity rate of the worst affected areas of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has now reached to 5.39%, which was on Tuesday at 11.99 %. On Wednesday, the overall positivity rate of the state has recorded at 3.72 %, which was 4.41 % on Tuesday.

But, the continuous deaths due to Covid-19 infection have been increasing in everyday and again on Wednesday, the state has witnessed highest ever casualties in a day with 14 deaths due to Covid-19 infection.

However, the   continuous spurt of COVID-19 cases has also continuing   with detection of the ‘Delta variant’ of Covid-19 and has detected 625 more positive cases in past 24-hours.

In the last 40 days, a total of 192 persons were died due to their Covid infection and in the first nine days of June, altogether 72 persons were died due to Covid infection and the Covid death toll now stands at 588.

During past few days, the positivity rate of the worst affected areas of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) increasing daily and on Sunday it has increased to 10.76%. The positivity rate on Monday downed to 6.33 % and again rises to 11.99 % on Tuesday. But, on Wednesday the positivity rate in AMC has again downed to 5.39 %.

After detection of 625 positive cases on Wednesday , now the total active cases of the state have stand now at  5,400 including patients are in ‘home isolation’ and the COVID deaths toll now stands at 588 figures with a fatality rate of 1.04 %.

Meanwhile, as per the reports of daily bulletin on Covid-19 vaccination released on Wednesday  eveningshowed that a total of 16,46,107 people were vaccinated across the state till date including inoculation of 11,37,584 persons with first dose and 5,08,523 more people with second doses of Covid vaccine.

The vaccine bulletin also stated that on Tuesday, a total of 1,267 people were vaccinated across all eight districts, but no vaccination for the people under the age group of 18 to 44 years.

As per Covid-19 bulletin, released by the state’s Health department on Wednesday evening showed that a total of 363 persons including patients in ‘home isolation’ were recovered from their Covid infection.

All 625 Covid-19 positive cases were detected after testing of swab samples 16,804 including 53 tested positive through RT-PCR and 572 more tested positive through Rapid Antigen test (RAT) from the people with travel history, contact tracing and from symptomatic patients. The fresh detection of 625 positive cases has increased   the overall positivity rate in comparison to positivity rate of Tuesday’s, which was 4.41 %.

The recovery rate of the state has also slightly decreased on Wednesday   and now it has stand at 89.44 percent and the state’s Covid-19 total caseload stands at 56, 794 as 625 more positive cases detected in the past 24-hours.
