CPI(M) expressed grave concern over the extension of the lockdown for five days causing serious problems for the working-class people in the state. A statement issued by the party said the government is using state power instead of making people aware of the situation in an attempt to come out of the crisis which is not at all correct.

The statement alleges that the state government had not taken any initiative for massive test in the beginning and the people are now paying the price as a number of infection and death are increasing every day. ‘Still, the government is not taking a realistic decision’, the statement said.

The party is especially worried as it has totally disrupted the life and livelihood of the working-class people. The party has reiterated its demand for free ration and cash to the poor people and express concern over the government inaction over solving the problems of the weaker section.
