73rd Independence Day to be celebrated with gaiety and festivity tomorrow

Agartala August 14 ,2019 : The state government has chalked out a detailed programme schedule to celebrate the 73rd Independence Day in a befitting manner. As per the schedule the slew of programmes will begin with morning marches of students all over the town through different streets while national flags will be hoisted in all private houses, business establishments and educational institutions after sunrise while the education minister Ratan Lal Nath will hoist the national flag in the secretariat complex at 7-00 AM.

According to a press note issued by the information department, the governor Ramesh Vaish will garland the statue of Mahatma Gandhi near the circuit house . This will be followed by offering  of floral tributes at the Martyrs enclave at Gandhighat area by the governor who will follow this up with offering of floral bouquet at the martyrs column in Post Office Chaumuhuni .

The chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb will hoist the national flag at the Assam Rifles ground at 9-10 AM and then he will inspect the parade by security forces receive the salutation from parading jawans . The chief minister will then deliver a speech for the people of the state . As part of the independence day programme there will be a cultural show and a 'Yoga' display programme in the Assam Rifles ground. 
A cricket competition will be held with participation of visually challenged students in the Polytechnic institute ground at 11-oo AM  and a swimming competition among children and physically handicapped students will come off at U.K. Academy ground . A hand ball match will be held in the U.K.Academy ground. This will again be followed by distribution of sweets by education minister Ratan Lal Nath among patients in cancer hospital and GBP hospital. Footballers of yesteryears will take part in a match in the U.K.Academy ground at 3-30 in the afternoon and a cultural programme will be held in the old Raj Bhawan at 5-30 in the evening while the ICA department will organise another cultural programme at Rabindra Shata Varshiki Bhawan from 6-30 in the evening.
