Assault on GM, TNGCL staff seize works demanding security

Agartala, March 3, 2021: All employees and staff of  Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited (TNGCL) has seized their works for indefinite period from Tuesday demanding proper security and immediate arrest of all culprits responsible for humiliation and assault of its Managing Director (MD) B Sinha at his office chamber on Monday evening.

In an extremely unruly incident the Managing Director (MD) of TNGCL, B  Sinha was severely assaulted and injured within his office chamber by allegedly supporters of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) . B Sinha,  who is known for the expansion of piped gas network in the state and expansion of CNG outlets across the state  and before two months of his retirement, most efficient MD of TNGCL was physically assaulted and after receiving  severe threat from miscreants, Sinha on Tuesday left the state towards his hometown New Delhi.

TNGCL authority after the shameful incident filed an FIR at NCC police station said that after returning from Udaipur, when MD reached his office chamber at the corporate office of Shilpa Nigam Bhavan on Monday afternoon, suddenly a group of 7 to 8 people forcefully entered his room and locked the room from inside.

Sources said that suspected miscreants has also stopped other officials of TNGCL to enter in the room of MD despite their repeated attempt to rescue their MD.

Police sources said that as per the FIR filed by TNGCL authority names of five miscreants has been given, who are responsible for assaulting B Sinha.

Sources added that after committing shameful incident, BMS workers created a total chaotic situation at the office complex of TNGCL by shouting slogans and they all fled from area before police reached to the spot.

After the incident, all employees immediately left their corporate office due to threat by some agitated outsourcing workers of TNGCL.

Earlier, one December, 2016, a group of BMS workers were also created ruckus in the TNGCL office complex and severally injured another senior official.

While, on Tuesday a group of TNGCL official met Dr. Parshant Kumar Goyal, the secretary of Chief Minister and gave detail description over the Monday’s incident and how humiliated MD B Sinha was forced to leave the state. They also demanded over security in their office complex as are feeling total insecure with threat of life after ruckus by BMS workers. TNGCL staff also seized their office work from Tuesday till proper security arrangements are being made for all staff.

While, police sources said that the CCTV footage of the corporate office of TNGCL has been collected and police are now seriously investigating the incident by registering the FIR.
