Significance of the movement of Har Ghar Tiranga in the realm of Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsava -2022

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is yet another initiative of the BJP–led NDA Government to celebrate and commemorate the 75 years of our independence since 1947 to chronicle and commemorate the glorious history of our people, culture and achievements. It is conceptualized to unite the passion of the people to move towards the path of transformation of the resurgent India The Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav means elixir of energy of independence. The elixir of inspirations of our warriors of freedom struggle,  the elixir of new ideas and pledges and above all the elixir of Aatmanirbharta, the self reliance. Therefore, this unique Mahotsav is a festival of awakening of the nation, called India and a festival of fulfilling our dreams of good governance leading to global peace and development. This Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing about transformation of India thus far in its evolutionary journey but also held within them the spark, power and potential to enable our Prime Minister Modi Ji’s vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The official journey of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commenced on the 12th March 2021 with which a 75-week countdown has begun to culminate in our 75th anniversary of independence and will end post a year on the 15th August 2023. Following are the five themes and cornerstones of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which shall go down in our history, in our narrative for the posterity,
1. Commemorating the milestones, historical events of freedom struggles, chronicling the unsung sacrifices of our umpteen freedom fighters to achieve their dream
2. Celebration of the ideals and ideas which shaped our Nation
3. Reinforcing, rededicating our commitments
4. Highlighting the steps and actions taken to implement the policies and actualize our commitments & pledges
5. Showcasing our achievements and evolution across different sectors of our path of progress.
Our tricolor national flag is called ‘Tiranga’ and by initiating the campaign of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’- that every house shall hoist the national flag under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, it is intended to encourage and integrate the people to bring the ‘Tiranga’ to their homes and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence. It is indeed a fact that our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing and hoisting the ‘Tiranga’ in our homes collectively as a nation in the 75th year of independence thus becomes a symbolic event of not only the act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building. The time has come for us to recognize the supreme sacrifices of our people, their struggles from across the nation for the freedom of our country from the slavery by the imperialistic British forces who subjugated us for almost 2 centuries. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness amongst all of us about the price we had to pay for our independence and the crucial role that our National Flag ‘Tiranga’ played during this entire period and its role in the making of resurgent India.
