OUR NORTH EAST IS TURNING INTO URJA LAKSHMI: PRAHLAD JOSHI

New Delhi, Oct 31, 2025 : Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Prahlad Joshi on Friday described the Northeast as a form of energy-lakshmi under the visionary leadership of PM Modi. In a post on the social media platform, Joshi said he attended the regional workshop on renewable energy in Guwahati and delivered a speech at the event.

In his address at the event, Union Minister Joshi said that India's commitment to clean energy reflects the country's vision for a sustainable and self-reliant future. He said, "The Northeast, rich in natural resources, has the potential to transform its resources into engines of inclusive and robust growth."

Joshi wrote in the post, "Today I spoke at the Regional Workshop on Renewable Energy in Guwahati. I commended the North Eastern states for their progress in achieving excellent renewable capacity share. I also reviewed the progress of flagship schemes. I also discussed the steps needed to harness the region's immense potential in solar, small hydro, green hydrogen, and biomass."

He further said, “Together, we are moving towards a clean, green and energy-secure North East, realizing the Prime Minister's vision of prosperity through sustainability.” Furthermore, he paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of India's unity and integrity, on his 150th birth anniversary in Guwahati and said that his vision will continue to inspire generations to strengthen the spirit of unity.

Earlier, about a week ago, while attending an event, Union Minister Joshi had said about the North-East that the North-Eastern states, which were ignored for decades, have seen a significant change under the leadership of PM Modi.

"With PM Modi's regular visits to the North Eastern states, dedicated initiatives and focused governance, the North Eastern region is witnessing unprecedented development," he said in a post on his X handle.
