An abnormal situation has arisen in the NBRC area under Town Bardowali from the drunken depredations of a miscreant named Tanmay Roy (26) . Sources from the area said that Tanmay, a compulsive drunkard, has been creating lot trouble in his own family by physically beating his old parents whenever he is denied money for indulging in his daily bouts of drinking. The people of the area cautioned him several times but Tanmay has remained unfazed by the growing outrage among is neighbours.

A senior resident of the area said that last night Tanmay had returned home around 11-00 PM and when his old mother Mrinalini Debi asked him why he had consumed so much of liquor he started beating his mother and father, Rabindra Roy. After hearing their screams for help the neighbours rushed into their house but miscreant Tanmay had fled his home before that.

This morning a large number of people of NBRC areas led by senior residents went to the police headquarter and met in deputation with the SP (west) Namit Pathak to press for immediate arrest and prosecution of Tanmay Roy. The SP is reported to have assured the residents that he will look into the matter and instruct the concerned police station to arrest absconding Tanmay without delay.
