The School Education Department has launched a special inspection drive across Tripura to assess the functioning of government schools, the quality of teaching-learning and implementation of various educational programmes.

As part of the initiative, a departmental team visited several schools in Mandai block on Wednesday and reviewed the teaching-learning process, student attendance, classroom environment and implementation of programmes including Vidya Setu, NIPUN Tripura and pre-primary activities.

The team interacted with teachers and observed classroom activities to assess students’ learning progress and engagement.

The inspection also extended to the District Education Officer’s Office in West Tripura and the Sadar Inspectorate. Meetings were held with officials to review school inspections, implementation of educational programmes, learning outcomes and administrative issues concerning schools.

During the visit, the team inspected the campuses of Vande Tripura, PM e-Vidya Tripura and the Tele-Education Project under the School Education Department. The team reviewed educational content production, broadcasting facilities and technology-enabled learning initiatives.

The department also examined the Interactive Virtual Classroom Project being implemented through GUMBI Software. The project is operational in 240 government schools across all eight districts of Tripura and facilitates live, analytics-based virtual classes from a studio in Agartala.

The two-way interactive system is intended to support access to quality education, particularly for students in remote and rural areas.

The School Education Department said the inspection drive would continue in the coming days to obtain a clearer assessment of the functioning of schools and implementation of educational programmes.

The department said improving the learning environment in government schools and ensuring meaningful learning opportunities for students were among the key objectives of the ongoing exercise.
