Veteran MLA Gopal Roy raises important issues in Assembly on NDPS cases and other matters

Veteran Congress MLA Gopal Roy raised several important issues in the Tripura Legislative Assembly (TLA) during the working hours, highlighting concerns related to minority welfare, the management of endowment properties and the need for greater transparency in public administration.

Roy stressed that the proper utilization of endowment properties and government funds should remain a priority. He informed the House that ongoing schemes worth Rs 0.06 crores are being implemented for the development of institutions while additional proposals worth Rs 1.5 crores have been submitted for approval.

Gopal Roy also drew attention to delays in filling vacant posts in various government departments and urged the government to speed up the recruitment process to improve administrative efficiency.During the discussion, members of the opposition raised questions regarding the implementation of welfare measures for minority communities, infrastructure in educational institutions, and the timely disbursement of scholarships. He also pointed out that NDPS cases in the state are not being dealt with diligently and asked the government to ensure proper investigation into and effective handling of NDPS cases.

Responding to the concerns, the chief minister assured the Assembly that all genuine issues would be examined carefully and that necessary action would be taken in a time-bound manner. He emphasized that transparency, accountability, and better management of issues raised would continue to receive priority.

The Speaker appreciated the constructive discussion made by Gopal Roy and directed the concerned departments to submit detailed reports on the issues raised in the House.
