Tripura BJP Revamps Organisation, Appoints District and Morcha Prabharis Ahead of Upcoming Polls

The Tripura Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has carried out a significant organisational reshuffle by appointing senior party leaders as District Sah Prabharis and State Morcha Prabharis across the state. The appointments were announced through two separate organisational orders issued by BJP Tripura Pradesh State President Abhishek Debroy on August 31, 2026.

According to the first order, bearing No. 437/F.5(8) BJP/TPA/2026, ten senior party workers have been appointed as District Sah Prabharis for different districts and organisational areas of Tripura. Pabitra Debnath has been appointed for North Tripura, Subrata Deb for Unakoti, Subrata Majumder for Dhalai, Prasanta Sinha for Khowai, Goutam Sarkar for Sadar Rural and Debdular Acharjee for Sadar Urban. Tapas Roy has been assigned Sepahijala North, while Subash Sarkar will be responsible for Sepahijala South. Debabrata Bhattacharjee has been appointed for Gomati and Prabir Das for South (Pilak).

In a second organisational order, bearing No. 438/F.5(8) BJP/TPA/2026 and also dated August 31, seven senior leaders have been appointed as State Morcha Prabharis for the party's various frontal organisations. Amit Rakshit, BJP State Vice-President, has been appointed as the Prabhari of Yuva Morcha, while State Vice-President Ajanta Bhattacharjee has been given responsibility for Mahila Morcha.

Former SC Morcha State President Tutan Das has been appointed as the Prabhari of SC Morcha, while former MP Rebati Tripura will oversee ST Morcha. State Secretary Mimi Majumder has been appointed as the OBC Morcha Prabhari, while State Secretary Kamal Dey has been given responsibility for Kishan Morcha. Asish Paul, former District Vice-President, has been appointed as the Prabhari of Minority Morcha.

The latest appointments assume significance as the BJP prepares to strengthen its organisational network at the grassroots level ahead of the upcoming electoral contests in Tripura. The move is also being viewed as an attempt to improve coordination between the state leadership, district organisations, mandal-level structures and the party's various frontal organisations.
