CM Dr Manik Saha holding crucial meeting with party MLAs and ministers in Sonartari guest house

With the ‘Tipra Motha’ chief Pradyot Kishore trying to box above his weight, as always, by prevaricating on the issue of alliance with the BJP for the upcoming elections to the 587 Village Committees-counterparts of the Panchayat in the plainland areas- the chief minister Dr Manik Saha has convened an important meeting of all party MLAs and ministers for a strategy session in the government run Sonartari guest house. The meeting commenced under the stewardship of the chief minister at 5-00 PM with all party MLAs and ministers in attendance including the newly appointed state president Abhishek Debroy. The veteran minister for agriculture and power Ratan Lal Nath who is reportedly in New Delhi was not initially visible as attendee in the meeting.

Highly placed sources in BJP said that the chief minister Dr Saha has taken a serious view of Pradyot’s willful dilly dallying over the issue of alliance in spite of having a tie-up in the assembly and is determined to fight the Village Committee elections on BJP’s own strength. “What may transpire in the meeting ultimately is still not clear but apparently the chief minister and the party president will lay stress on fighting the polls at BJP’s own organizational strength ; the problems that may crop up before the party like goonery and thuggery of ‘Motha’ workers against the BJP candidates and voters in the campaign are also likely to be discussed in the meeting for a solution” said sources. They added that things will be clear once the meeting is over.
