Fifty five yearold man arrested for raping minor specially abled girl, medical test today

In a horrible incident of sexual abuse a man fifty five identified as Jawhar Lal Debnath (55) brutally raped a minor, specially abled girl in Dakshin Bhuratoli village under Manu Bazar police station in Sabroom subdivision . The man has finally been arrested under public pressure and is being put through medical check-up after being produced in special POCSO court in Belonia today.

Giving details of the shameful incident the SDPO (Sabroom) Diptanu Biswas said that taking advantage of the lonely presence of the girl in her ancestral home in Dakshin Bhuratoli, Jawhar Lal Debnath, father of the local BJP booth president, had intruded into her house and raped her brutally on last Saturday, that is August 15. After the minor girl’s parents returned home she told everything but the guardians could not do anything for fear of political retaliation and they had to desist from filing a complaint with the Sabroom womens police station .

But finally the people of the area, specially the women decided to protest the matter and marched to the Sabroom hospital to have the minor girl medically checked up yesterday. After the crime of rape was confirmed by medical check-up the large group of women reached the Sabroom women police station filed a FIR giving all details . Having no other alternative but to swing into action a police team picked up rapist Jawhar Lal Debnath from his home and registered a case under various relevant sections of the BNS. The SDPO (Sabroom) Diptanu Biswas said that Jawhar Lal is being put up in Belonia special POCSO court and and put through medical check-up. “ We think the rape charge will be proved by the medical check-up and then we will file a foolproof charge-sheet against rapist Jawhar Lal Debnath for trial” said Diptanu Biswas.
