BJP to launch district-level cadre training across Tripura from Wednesday

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will begin district-level training programmes for its workers across Tripura from Wednesday under the nationwide Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Prasikshan Maha Abhiyan, party spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty said on Tuesday.

Speaking at a press conference in Agartala, Chakraborty said the party had nearly completed its mandal-level training and digital learning programme in the state. Training has already been conducted in 55 mandals, while the remaining mandal-level sessions will be completed alongside the district-level programme, he said.

The first phase of district-level training will begin on Wednesday in Gomati and South Tripura districts, along with the Sepahijala South organisational district.

According to the schedule announced by the party, training will be organised in the Sadar Rural, Sadar Urban and Sepahijala North organisational districts on August 8, 9 and 10. The remaining organisational districts of Unakoti, North, Khowai and Dhalai will host the programme on August 11, 12 and 13.

Chakraborty said each district-level training session would continue for two nights and three days. During the programme, participants would receive training on 12 subjects identified by the party as part of its organisational development initiative.

He said BJP's Tripura unit president would inaugurate the programme in Gomati district. Chief Minister Manik Saha is also expected to attend the training sessions after returning from New Delhi, he added.

Several senior party functionaries from the national level are scheduled to participate in the programme. These include BJP central observer Dr Rajdeep Roy, General Secretary (Organisation) Rabindra Raju, and national trainers Guru Prakash Paswan, Raj Kumar Sharma and Hemant Goswami.

Referring to the earlier phase of the campaign, Chakraborty said the mandal-level training sessions had recorded nearly 90 per cent attendance. The party expects participation of around 1,400 to 1,500 workers in the district-level programme, with up to 150 trainees attending each training session.

BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee, Minister Tinku Roy and the party's media in-charge Sunit Sarkar were also present at the press conference.
