Mysterious death in Santir Bazar causes stir , fear among people

The Santir Bazar subdivision of south Tripura has yet again come to the fore with another mysterious death of a young widowed man-this time in Laugang area. In the last week three members of the same family had been found murdered and on the same day another young man was found mysteriously killed . None of these two cases has been solved as yet .

But another man was found dead in his sleeping room yesterday in the morning in Laugang area of the subdivision, raising fear among the people. Sources from Santir Bazar said that Tuton Saha (40) had been living in his ancestral home alone after the death of his wife a few years ago. He had been living peacefully with other family members . On Monday night he had returned home from market and had gone to sleep after having dinner but did not rise in the morning on time. When he did not respond to repeated calls from outside yesterday in the morning the other family members informed Santir Bazar police station and broke into the room. They found Tuton Saha lying dead on the floor though he had no reason to sleep on the floor, having a bed in his room.

A police team from Santir Bazar came soon and noted down the details of the case besides sending them body to Santir Bazar police station for post-mortem. The officer in charge of the Santir Bazar police station said that the reason for the death can be explained only after the detailed post-mortem report is obtained. The death of Tuton Saha has sparked a fear and panic in the Laugang area and people are planning to organise a ‘Puja’ and sacrifice to propitiate evil forces.
