CM holds high level meeting to tackle flood situation in state

The chief minister Dr Manik Saha today presided over a high level meeting in the TIFT conference hall . Senior officials of the state government including departmental secretaries , representative officials of the AMC , Panchayat and rural development departments attended the meeting . Official sources said that, besides the possible threat of flood due to heavy monsoon rain, the chief minister took briefing from officials about preparedness of the various line departments about their plan of action in response to possible flood situation.

The chief minister laid stress on resolving the water-logging problem in urban and rural areas including in the state capital and instructed departmental officials to devise ways and means of getting rid of the problem. Apart from this, the issue of better co-ordination among various departments was also discussed along with the need for putting people on high alert well in advance. He urged upon the officials to attack maximum possible priority on easing the problems of people and neutralizing the threat of flood and water-logging.
