CM indicates drastic action against corruption, promises better civic life

The chief minister Dr Manik Saha has categorically stated that his government will take drastic action against officer and employees found involved in corrupt practices once allegations against them are proved prima facie . “There is no reason to believe that we are sitting idle or turning a blind eye ; a government can not do any thing at will , it has to act under provisions of constitution , law and service rules ; no person-howsoever high-will escape punishment when it is warranted by his foul acts” said Dr Saha. Replying to queries from the media about the case of Abhishek Chandra (IAS) he said that in view of allegations against him the government had sent him on compulsory waiting and then suspended him when the process of investigation was on. Now more drastic action will be taken against him as per law and procedure of central civil service conduct rules. He added that the government is now waiting for the outcome of the fresh cases against him and will take appropriate action in the matter.

Besides, the chief minister assured a large audience in Bardowali area under his assembly constituency of positive measures to ensure and better urban and civil life at Agartala. He was addressing a function , organized on the occasion of inauguration of a new building in Milan Sangha area of Bardowali to house the office of Ward no-40 as well as the Tehshil office. The programme was also attended by the commissioner of AMC Saju Waheed (IAS), AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, deputy mayor Monika Das Datta, the corporator of Ward no-40 Sampa Sarkar Chowdhury and corporator of Ward no-33 Abhijit Moulik.

The chief minister said that since the year 2021 the AMC has been working relentlessly to improve the quality of urban life and facilities . “There was a time in the past when sources of water like ponds within the AMC area would be filled up at will by people but we have stopped this and also reclaimed a large part of lost water bodies ; we are also preparing to sanction 4300 more households under the PMAY scheme in the AMC areas; a large number of schemes worth Rs 581 crores will be implemented in the AMC area in the coming years” said the chief minister Dr Manik Saha. The AMC Mayor Dipak Majuder also addressed the audience before formally inaugurating the newly built Ward office and Tehshil office.
