Almost daily deaths from road accidents have become a regular feature of life in Tripura in one part of the state or the other. The latest such death occurred in Jolaibari area under south Tripura district last night. Sources from Jolaibari said that Rati Mohan Tripura (37) , a resident of Mayajay para village under Jolaibari police station and a dedicated worker of BJP, had attended a marriage party in Avangcherra ADC village last night.

While on his way back home by his Scooty (No-08B6172) Rati Mohan had failed to maintain balance of his vehicle on the slushy road and fell off it with the Scooty over his body. A few residents of the area close to the road came out and took Rati Mohan to the Jolaibari community health centre at 12-45 AM but the doctor on duty there declared unconscious Rati Mohan ‘dead on arrival’. His death cast a shadow of grief and mourning in his native Mayajay Para village and the dead body was handed over to his relatives after post-mortem .The cremation took place this morning in his native village after members and office-bearers of the Jolaibari ‘Mandal’ had paid their last tributes to him . Rati Mohan was known to be a dedicated worker of the BJP.

Sources said that people in Mayajay Para and Avangcherra are deeply aggrieved over the death by accident of Rati Mohan Tripura and are holding the poor condition of road responsible for the accident and his resultant death. The people are also blaming the Jolaibari MLA and minister Shukla Charan Noatia for the poor condition of the road and lack of repairing.
