Ahead of the 30th Sindhu Darshan Yatra and the 1st Sindhu Mahakumbh, Himalayan Parivar Tripura Pradesh has launched a dedicated Himalaya Visitors Assistance Centre to facilitate pilgrims and visitors travelling to Leh-Ladakh.
Announcing the initiative at a press conference on Tuesday, Tripura Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker and Chief Patron of Himalayan Parivar Tripura, Ramprasad Paul, said the organisation has taken special steps to encourage participation from Tripura, particularly among journalists.
Paul stated that every year many journalists from different parts of the country visit Leh-Ladakh under the patronage of Himalayan Parivar. However, participation from Tripura-based journalists has remained negligible. To address this, the Tripura unit of the organisation has decided to provide a special low-cost travel opportunity for journalists from the state.
He informed that the pilgrimage will commence from Kurukshetra in Haryana, and the Tripura branch of Himalayan Parivar will bear all major expenses for journalists from Tripura, including travel from Kurukshetra to Leh-Ladakh, accommodation, food, and other arrangements during the 17-day tour. The facility will also be available for journalists travelling with their spouses.
Paul further said that the organisation is ready to assist members of the general public who wish to participate in the pilgrimage and seek guidance regarding the journey.
The Leh-Ladakh pilgrimage and Sindhu Darshan Yatra is scheduled to begin from Kurukshetra, Haryana, on June 18, with participants from different parts of the country expected to join the event.
