Intriguing development : BMS (Nagerjala unit) meet in deputation with SP (west)

The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) , Nagerjala unit today met in deputation with the SP (west) Namit Pathak and briefed him about the attack on members of the unit allegedly by the henchmen of corporator of AMC ward no-33 Abhijit Mullick and how four motor workers including the leader of the dissident group, Liton Kar were injured in the attack. Yesterday’s trouble had been created by a blockade programme launched by the BMS unit of Nagerjala in protest against the alleged extortion racket run by corporator . The blockade programme was broken by the henchmen of corporator Abhijit Mullick and there was lot of trouble as Liton Kar spoke his mind to the media, lambasting the coroporator.

This morning a delegation of the BMS (Nagerjala unit) met in deputation with the SP (west) Namit Pathak and pressed for the arrest of corporator Abhijit Mullick and his acolytes who allegedly had launched attacks on motor workers in Nagerjala. The SP is stated to have assured the BMS delegation that he will look into the matter and take an appropriate decision.

Meanwhile, the BMS unit of Nagerjala bus, motor and autorickshaw stand has withdrawn its ‘bandh’call in the stand announced yesterday. The ‘bandh’was to be effective from today in protest against the attack on the motor workers yesterday by the followers of the coroporator Abhijit Mullick. Speaking to media persons the leader of the BMS dissident group at Nagerjala Liton Kar said that the issue had reached the chief minister Dr Manik Saha who represents the Town Bardowali constituency that encompasses Nagerjala. The chief minister had issued a directive to the BMS unit through his emissaries asking the BMS unit here to withdraw today’s ‘bandh’ call in the interest of public . Liton Kar said that since the chief minister had taken cognizance of the matter and issued a directive they decided to call off the ‘bandh’call in public interest.
