Tripura Government Degree College Admission Process for 2026-27 to Begin from May 29 Through SAMARTH Portal

The Higher Education Department of Tripura has officially announced the commencement of the admission process for First Semester courses in Government General Degree Colleges across the state for the academic session 2026-27. Students who have successfully passed Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations will be eligible to apply online for admission into BA, BSc and BCom Major courses through the centralized SAMARTH admission portal.
According to the official notification issued by the department, the online application process will begin on May 29, 2026 and will continue till June 7, 2026 up to midnight. The admission process will be conducted completely online in a transparent and centralized manner to ensure smooth enrollment in government degree colleges across Tripura.
Students can submit their applications through the official admission portal dhetripuraadmission.samarth.ac.in and the Higher Education Department website highereducation.tripura.gov.in.
The Higher Education Department has released a detailed schedule for the admission process. The complete merit list along with the list of selected candidates for the first round of admission will be published on June 19, 2026. Students selected in the first round will have to complete admission formalities along with verification of original documents from June 22 to June 23, 2026.
Following the completion of the first round, the vacancy list will be published on June 24, 2026. The second round of admission will take place from June 25 to June 29, 2026. After the second round, another vacancy list will be issued on June 30, 2026.
The third round admission process has been scheduled for July 1 and July 2, 2026, while the vacancy position after the third round will be published on July 3, 2026. The fourth and final round of admission will be conducted from July 4 to July 6, 2026.
The department has issued several important guidelines for applicants. Students have been informed that applications will be accepted only through online mode via the SAMARTH portal and no offline or manual application forms will be entertained under any circumstances.
As per the admission rules, a student can apply to a maximum of four colleges and may choose up to two major subjects in each institution. During online registration, applicants must carefully upload Aadhaar details, Higher Secondary examination marks, photographs and all other required documents accurately to avoid rejection or discrepancies during verification.
The department has clarified that final admission will be confirmed only after physical verification of original testimonials and documents at the respective colleges. Students have therefore been advised to keep all original certificates ready during the admission period.
The notification also mentioned that information regarding the proposed Women’s College at Nalchar will be made available through the official website of the Higher Education Department and respective college notice boards.
Separate instructions and guidelines for applicants have already been uploaded on the official admission portal to assist students in completing the application process smoothly. The centralized admission system through SAMARTH is expected to strengthen transparency, simplify college admission procedures and ensure better management of seat allocation in Government Degree Colleges across Tripura.
Recently, the state government also decided to keep colleges operational to ensure smooth completion of the admission process and uninterrupted academic activities for the new academic session.
