CM Dr. Manik Saha: "Students Must Lead the Fight Against Drug Abuse" – Jagriti-2025 Quiz Concludes Successfully

The grand finale of Jagriti-2025: Inter-College Quiz Competition successfully concluded today at Rabindra Bhawan, Agartala, with Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya, Udaipur, securing the championship title. The competition, organized by the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Transport Departments of Tripura, aimed to enhance awareness among students about consumer protection, road safety, and the dangers of drug addiction.Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, who inaugurated the event, emphasized the role of students in protecting society from social evils like drug abuse. He stated:
> “Drug addiction is one of the biggest challenges for our society today. Students must take the lead in the fight against this menace and work towards building a drug-free Tripura.”He further praised the efforts of the organizing departments in conducting such an impactful event and encouraged students to participate in more educational initiatives that promote awareness.Shri Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister of Food, CS & CA, Transport, and Tourism, attended the event as the Chief Guest and stressed the significance of youth involvement in social change.
> “The youth of Tripura are our future. By engaging in such knowledge-based competitions, they not only enhance their learning but also become responsible citizens who can spread awareness on critical issues like road safety and consumer rights.”
He also assured that the Tripura Government would continue supporting such events to educate and empower students.
Winners and Final Standings Champion: Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya, Udaipur (Shreya Modak & Shubhalil Chakraborty) – 35 points.First Runner-up: College of Teacher Education, Kumarghat (Nishant Biswas & Joyjit Majumder) – 25 points.Second Runner-up: C.V.Sc & A.H (Veterinary College) (Soumik Bhowmik & Bishal Debnath) – 22 points.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including:Mr. Justice Arindam Lodh, Judge, High Court of Tripura (Guest of Honour),Shri Chandra Kumar Jamatia, IAS – Secretary, Transport, Govt. of Tripura, Shri Raval H.
