Buoyed by the massive victory in the ADC election held last month, the ‘Tipra Motha Party’ has now initiated a planned move to engineer an exodus of tribal supporters from the BJP. Yesterday in a programme held in the Hezamara market under Mohanpur subdivision altogether 33 tribal supporters of BJP belonging to 11 families left the party joined the ‘Tipra Motha’ by accepting party flags from Simna MLA Brishaketu Debbarma, MDC of Simna-Tamakari constituency Rabindra Debbarma and TMP’s Hezamara block president Nirmal Debbarma and other leaders .

Sources from Hezamara said that a meeting had been held on the joining programme in the Hezamara market under Bikunthapur ADC village under the Simna constituency . The joining programme followed thereafter and the entrants to ‘Tipra Motha’who had so long been supporters of BJP joined the new party and declared their resolve to work for the ‘Tipra Motha’. Addressing the gathering the MLA Brishaketu Debbarma , MDC Rabindra Debbarma and block president Nirmal Debbarma urged upon the new entrants to the party as well as old supporters to work hard to strengthen the party in tribal interest as organizational strength will form the basis for the party’s success in the assembly election in 2028.
