In the aftermath of the ADC election results in Tripura, reports of widespread post-poll violence have emerged from multiple districts, raising serious concerns over law and order. This comes despite an appeal for peace by Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, founder of Tipra Motha, urging all sides to maintain calm following the declaration of results.

According to various reports, incidents of attacks, arson, and vandalism targeting opposition party supporters, primarily from the BJP, have been reported from Khowai, Bishramganj, Teliamura, Jirania, Sabroom, and other parts of the state.

Chief Minister Manik Saha, has earlier acknowledged that incidents of post-election violence have occurred in the state after several elections since 2018. The latest wave of violence appears to reinforce those concerns. Therefore he also appealed for peace.

Instead of Chief Minister and peace appeals from Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, in Khowai district, several areas including Purba Rajnagar under Champahour Police Station reported attacks on BJP offices and residences of party leaders such as Sutambar Debbarma and Jarnel Debbarma. A tea stall in Rajnagar and a BJP office in Bonbazar were also allegedly vandalized.

Similar incidents were reported from Bachaibari, Ampura, and Behalabari, where houses and shops belonging to BJP workers were attacked. In some cases, arson attempts were also reported.

In a disturbing development, firefighters responding to incidents of arson were allegedly attacked with slingshots in Baijalbari while trying to control the blaze near the residence of BJP candidate David Debbarma in Ramchandraghat.

In Bishramganj’s PathaliaghatADC village (Lungtangchhara), the house of BJP counting agent Billal Mia was allegedly ransacked by miscreants reportedly linked to Tipra Motha supporters. Billal, who was representing BJP candidate Kanuraj Debbarma, received threats prior to the incident. His elderly mother and child reportedly fled to nearby forests to escape the violence.

In Takarjala, reports indicate that around 19–20 houses were attacked, including that of BJP candidate Nirmal Debbarma. Many BJP workers and leaders reportedly fled their homes and took shelter elsewhere fearing further attacks.

In Manu–Bankul and Shilachhari constituencies, BJP leaders alleged that at least three party offices were vandalized following Tipra Motha’s electoral victory. BJP MLA Mailanku Mog has condemned the attacks, stating that the violence has created an atmosphere of fear.

In Jirania’s Kalabagan area, BJP candidate Abhijit Debbarma was reportedly attacked, while a party worker was injured by slingshot fire. Attempts were also made to set the candidate’s house on fire, though security forces later brought the situation under control.

In Simna–Tamakkari constituency, several families reportedly fled their homes and took refuge in nearby forests after attacks began following the victory announcement of Tipra Motha candidates. BJP workers claimed they spent the night in fear, unable to return home.

In Sabroom, BJP workers reportedly abandoned their homes due to fear of further violence. In Santirbazar constituency, a BJP office in Chatakchhni Hamlaipara was allegedly set on fire after electricity supply was cut off, according to BJP sources.

The ADC election results saw Tipra Motha securing a decisive victory, winning 24 out of 28 seats. However, the celebrations have allegedly been marred by violent incidents, leading to heightened political tensions across Tripura.

Opposition parties have demanded immediate intervention to restore law and order, while allegations of targeted attacks and administrative inaction continue to surface.
