SDM Ambassa Sanctions Rs.25,000 SDRF Aid for Electrocuted Girl in Ambassa

In a prompt humanitarian response, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Ambassa, Ms. Rinku Reang, has sanctioned an immediate financial assistance of Rs.25,000 from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for the treatment of a thirteen years Girl critically injured due to electrocution.
The beneficiary, Ms. Monti Modak of Ambassa Bazar, sustained serious injuries after reportedly coming into contact with a high-voltage electric wire on April 15, 2026, at around 4:30 PM. Following the incident, her condition required urgent medical attention.
According to the official sanction memo issued by the Office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Ambassa under Dhalai district, the financial aid has been approved as interim relief in favour of her next of kin, Shri Shyamojit Modak. The assistance aims to support immediate medical expenses and provide relief to the affected family during this critical period.
The memo further states that the sanction has been granted based on reports submitted by the concerned authorities, including the Disaster Control Management (DCM) and the Ambassa Municipal Council. The expenditure will be drawn from SDRF allocations under the Disaster Management head for the financial year 2024–25.
Officials confirmed that necessary instructions have been issued to the accounts and treasury departments to ensure swift disbursement of the sanctioned amount.
This timely intervention by the district administration highlights the government’s commitment to providing rapid assistance to victims of unforeseen accidents and emergencies in Tripura.
