BJP candidate Jawhar Chakraborty casts vote in Chandrapur HS school in Dharma Nagar by-election

The ruling BJP candidate for ongoing by-election today to the Dharma Nagar assembly constituency, Jawhar Chakraborty cast his vote at 8-00 AM in the Chandrapur Higher Secondary school polling booth. Having cast his vote he greeted the voters queued up in front of the polling booth warmly and got a positive and warm response . Jawhar Chakraborty who is personally quite popular with the voters of Dharma Nagar because of his image and bearing as a gentleman appealed to the voters to cast their choice on the EVM in a smooth and peaceful manner. The overall ambience outside the polling booth was one of joyful celebration and there was no bitterness and rancour among the voters owing allegiance to different parties. The main contest in the by-election to Dharma Nagar assembly constituency revolves round three main contenders, Jawhar Chakraborty of BJP, Chayan Bhattacharjee of Congress and Amitava Datta of the CPI (M). However, political observers from Dharma Nagar said that , had the CPI (M) and Congress jointly fought the polls by putting up a single candidate , preferably Chayan Bhattacharjee, the combine could have easily won the seat because of anti-incumbency against the BJP. But the outcome now has become slightly unpredictable till actual counting because of the triangular nature of the contest.
