Youth electrocuted , seriously injured after fall of 11000 vault electric wire falls on house

In a dangerous mishap which is by now a familiar phenomenon in Tripura, a young civilian sustained serious burn injuries and shock after a high-power electric transmission line carrying 11 thousand voltage of power fell on him in his residence . The youth is now battling for life in Melaghar hospital .

According to details of the incident available from sources, Kabir Islam (54), a resident of Durlav Narayan area under Sonamura subdivision , had been engaged in some house-repairing work on the tin-shed of his house around 10-00 in the morning. At that time a high-power electricity transmission line of TSECL fitted directly over his house collapsed on his house-top. Kabir Islam who had been working on the tin-shed got entangled in the wire and screamed for help as the 11 thousand voltage carrying wire partially charred his body.

Responding to Kabir’s frantic call for help the other members of the house reached the top and managed to rescue him from the entanglement and sent him in a serious condition to Melaghar hospital . Sources said that the doctors in the Melaghar hospital are trying hard to provide relief to injured Kabir Islam and save his life . The doctors said that the shock and burn injuries sustained by Kabir Islam are quite serious and the injuries will take time to heal . The family members of Kabir Islam expressed their anger over the loose connections of the high-power electrical wire and demanded compensation from the TSECL.
