The Tipra Motha Party on Tuesday organised a large public rally at Manu–Bankul in Sabroom subdivision, projecting strength ahead of the upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

The rally, held near the ITI College grounds, was organised in support of party candidates Devajit Tripura from the 27-East Muhuripur–Bhuratali constituency and Manindra Tripura from the 28-Shilachari–Manu Bankul seat.

Party supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma addressed the gathering, which saw a significant turnout of people, largely from tribal communities. The event was marked by slogans and visible enthusiasm among supporters, with party leaders describing it as a show of organisational strength in the region.

In his address, Debbarma targeted the ruling BJP, asserting that despite differences in resources, his party would effectively challenge it. He said unity among tribal communities would be the key factor in determining electoral outcomes.

“The strength of our people lies in unity. If we remain united, we can change the political landscape,” he said, expressing confidence not only about the ADC polls but also about future electoral prospects.

Debbarma also made sharp remarks directed at the state leadership, drawing strong reactions from the crowd. He alleged that the ruling party was underestimating the political mobilisation of tribal communities.

Supporters at the rally expressed confidence in the victory of Tipra Motha candidates and appealed to voters to back the party in the interest of development and representation in the autonomous council.

Polling for the TTAADC elections is expected to take place later this week.
