In further erosion of ‘Motha’s support base in ADC in the run-up to the polls on April 12, altogether 427 voters of 97 families today joined the BJP by accepting party flags from the chief ministers Dr Manik Saha , finance minister Pranjit Singharoy and senior tribal leaders of ‘Jana Jati Morcha’, powerful tribal front organisation of the BJP at Ampi under Amarpur subdivision . As part of the ADC election campaign a rally had been organised by the BJP near the Ampi market which was attended by a large number of tribal supporters of the party . The joining there took place before the meeting started.
Welcoming the new entrants to the party the chief minister said that the ‘Tipra Motha’ has cheated the indigenous people so far and enjoyed power and pelf but the party will lose its relevance in the days to come. “We in the BJP do not depend on any party and this is the reason why we are contesting all 28 elective seats of the council ; it is unfortunate that ‘Tipra Motha’ is indulging in dangerous politics of ethnic polarisation and trying to divide people ; the people of ADC are not responsive to the divisive politics and slogans of ‘Tipra Motha’ said the chief minister. He asserted that in the upcoming election the BJP will form the council and ensure holistic development of the tribal communities.
“ From the state government we have given all due funds to the ADC but there has been no development ; only the funds have been embezzled or siphoned off ; it is now time to form a transparent council in ADC which will work for the benefit of tribal people ; the BJP is going to do this by winning the election” said Dr Manik Saha. He also called upon people to get rid of the fear of the goonery and thuggery of ‘Tipra Motha’ and cast their votes in favour of BJP freely and fearlessly.
