Even though he has maintained a dignified silence over the cooked up issue, the leaders and activists of ‘Tipra Motha’ have expressed grave resentment over the disinformation campaign against the minister of forest Animesh Debbarma in social media and in a section of conventional media. The entire social media and a section of conventional media were agog with ‘completely baseless report’ that Animesh Debbarma would part company with ‘Tipra Motha’ and join the BJP.

“This was completely false and fabricated and domestically manufactured news and nobody even tried to contact or speak to Animesh before filing this ill-sourced report in a motivated manner to tarnish his image” said a senior ‘Tipra Motha’ leade. Describing the entire report as ‘wildly speculative’ and ‘absurd’ the leader said that this is simply impossible because no minister belonging to a party can quit the party alone. “For a defection from ‘Tipra Motha’ to materialize at least 9 of the 13 MLAs have to quit to be recognized as a separate group so that they can retain their membership of the assembly as per anti-defection law , so Animesh leaving the party alone is an absolutely absurd idea” said the ‘Tipra Motha’ leader. He added that as an MLA and a minister from ‘Tipra Motha’ Animesh is quite happy and he is a dedicated worker and leader of the party and its ideology, hence his leaving the party is out of question and media in any form should not indulge in such wild reporting without verification of truth.
