Tripura’s organically produced ginger and ‘Bird’s Eye Chilly’ (Dhani Lanka) have gained a new market in Germany ,sending euphoric waves across the state’s agriculture sector. The minister for agriculture Ratan Lal Nath has expressed his ‘deep joy and satisfaction’ over the new market and order gained by the state.
Disclosing this, the minister for agriculture Ratan Lal Nath said that recently Tripura’s organic agricultural products had been show-cased in the BIOFACH-2026 fair in Nuremberg city of Germany and the visitors including customers there were deeply impressed by the quality of the products, specially the quality and freshness of the organically produced ginger and Bird’s Eye Chilly (Dhani Lanka). This led to an order sent by Germany’s agriculturists for 500 matric tons of ginger and 20 matric tons of Bird’s Eye Chilly. “I also visited the BIOFACH fair in Germany’s Nurenberg , accompanied by a peasant from Jampui-Jala named Laxman Reang ; the German agricultural officers and the agro-businessmen were so impressed by the quality of our organic product that they passed orders immediately ; if we maintain quality we will receive more orders in future” said Ratan Lal Nath .
He said that the Indian union ministry of industry and commerce had an important role behind the fair in Germany and the ministry also encouraged the representatives of Tripura to boost production with quality. Ratan Lal Nath said that the materials ordered will be sent soon and attempts will continue to improve quality further and boost up production to have sold in international market.
