Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has announced that a new advanced Skill Development Centre and a Foreign Language School will soon be established in the state. The initiative is part of the state government’s continued efforts to create better educational and employment opportunities for the youth of Tripura.
Addressing the third regional workshop under the NITI Aayog Centre Support Mission held yesterday at Hotel Polo Towers, the Chief Minister emphasized that governance must ultimately focus on improving the quality of life of every citizen. He stated that development should not remain limited to institutions or infrastructure alone, but must translate into real benefits for the common people.
Dr. Saha highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always stressed the importance of taking development to the last mile. “The goal of good governance is to ensure that the benefits of progress reach the grassroots level. Our government is committed to creating opportunities for the youth so that they can compete nationally and globally,” he said.
The Chief Minister further explained that the Centre Support Mission under NITI Aayog represents a strong model of cooperation between the Central and State governments. Through this platform, states are receiving necessary policy guidance and institutional strengthening support to implement development programs more effectively.
He added that Tripura, like other states, is benefiting from this collaborative approach, which helps in policy planning, performance monitoring, and capacity building of state institutions. The proposed Skill Development Centre and Foreign Language School are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the employability of young people in emerging sectors.
Senior officials and representatives from various northeastern states also participated in the workshop, which focused on strengthening federal cooperation and accelerating regional development.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that these initiatives would open new avenues for Tripura’s youth and contribute significantly to the state’s socio-economic growth.
