Public anger is growing in Sabroom is rising over the failure of police to recover a missing house-wife who had disappeared on January 1 evening when the new year was being celebrated . Even though a FIR on alleged abduction was filed on the same night the personnel of Sabroom police station are to take an effective initiative to recover the house-wife .

The shameful incident of deliberate elopement or alleged abduction took place in the Daspara village under Indira Nagar Gram Panchayat under Sabroom police station on January 1 . On that night Tanusri Maumder (24), wife of Biswajit Majumder of the village, had gone missing from their house around 7-00 PM . Since Tanusri did not return that night, her husband filed a FIR with the Sabroom police station , naming Samar Majumder of nearby Borkhola village under Bijaynagar panchyat of having fed his wife sedative and abducted her.

Even though more than a week has passed since the filing of the complaint the police personnel of Sabroom police station have not been able to recover her or trace her whereabouts. The residents of Daspara village are deeply aggrieved over the police failure to do their duties. Responding to allegations of inaction sources in Sabroom police station said that they were not sure whether the grown-up woman had been abducted or had gone away on her own but effort is on to trace her whereabouts. “It is easy to blame police because we are not authorised to contradict even baseless allegations : the woman who disappeared is grown up and it is inconceivable that she was abducted so easily and without inviting any notice ; but still we are acting upon the complaint filed and trying to recover her” said sub-inspector of police posted in Sabroom police station.
