Sunil Deodhar Arrives for Kishore Barman’s Wedding, BL Santhosh to Land Today Amid Intense Organisational Buzz in Tripura

In a politically charged atmosphere ahead of the upcoming ADC elections, senior BJP strategist Sunil Deodhar arrived in Tripura yesterday to attend the wedding ceremony of Minister Kishore Barman. The ceremony is scheduled to be held today at Hapania Palm Resort, drawing the attention of top political figures.
Meanwhile, all eyes are on the expected arrival of BJP’s All India General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santhosh, whose visit has already triggered significant organisational activity within the party’s state unit. He also said to be attend the Kishore Barman weeding ceremony.
Sources indicate that Santhosh may hold crucial discussions regarding the selection of the next BJP state president, a burning issue within the organisation at the moment. He is also likely to review preparations for the forthcoming ADC polls and meet the party’s media team and senior leaders.
As the ADC election approaches, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has been leading extensive field-level engagements across tribal areas. From conducting various outreach programmes to encouraging people to listen to the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ broadcast, the Chief Minister has intensified grassroots mobilisation. Yesterday, he attended a joining programme at Barakathal Bazaar under the Simna Assembly Constituency, where 312 voters from various political backgrounds joined the BJP.
Former MP Rebati Tripura is also active on the ground. In an organisational meeting at Khowai, 61 voters from 14 families joined the BJP through his initiative. Rebati Tripura stated that the new joiners were earlier supporters of TIPRA Motha or the Left Front but shifted allegiance after losing trust in those parties for misleading the tribal population.
The ongoing race for the next BJP state president has further energised internal activities. With the ADC election nearing, the central leadership reportedly prefers that a new president take charge before the polls. In this context, the visit of BL Santhosh, widely known as a successful crisis manager in several states, is being considered highly significant.
Party instructions have already been issued for ministers, MLAs, MDCs, and tribal leaders to remain present for his meetings.
BJPs media cells spokesperson Sunit Sarkar confirmed Santhosh’s arrival but expressed concerns regarding ongoing disruptions in flight services. He said Santhosh will hold organisational meetings immediately upon landing and continue discussions on Monday before leaving the state.
The primary agenda remains the attend the Kishore Barman weeding ceremony.
Following these consultations, the new president’s name may be finalised after discussions with the central leadership in Delhi.
Santhosh may also provide strategic guidance for the upcoming ADC polls. Additionally, sources revealed that he is likely to attend Kishore Barman’s wedding reception during his stay. Other leaders, including Rabindra Rajuji, Sambit Patra, and state in-charge Dr. Rajdeep Roy may also visit Tripura around the same time and for the same occasion.
Overall, the next two days of BL Santhosh’s Tripura visit are being viewed as highly significant as the state BJP prepares for both organisational restructuring and the crucial ADC elections.
