CM presides as TFA felicitate 80 new life members, Mayor becomes life member

The Tripura Football Association (TFA) today organised a felicitation programme for the new 80 life members who were taken in the association. The AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, justice (retired) Arindam Lodh of Tripura high court, chairperson in council Tushar Bhattacharjee, IGP Krishnendu Chakraborty also became life members of the Association among many other eminent people.

The chief minister Dr Manik Saha, minister for sports and youth programme Tinku Roy were the main dignitaries present in the felicitation programme. In his address to the gathering and sports minister Tinku Roy said that the BJP led state government has brought about major improvement in the infrastructure of football. They said that after the BJP government came to power altogether thirteen football grounds in the state have been converted into synthetic grounds while flood lighting arrangements have been made in the UK Academy ground at Agartala. They congratulated the new life members and appealed to them to contribute to the development of football, the most popular game in the world, in Tripura. The Mayor Dipak Majumder in his speech also spoke on similar lines.

Finally the TFA president Pranab Sarkar and secretary Amit Chowdhury thanked the VIPs and tha august gathering for their presence. The new life members also promised their sincere co-operation with the TFA in its venture for developing the game.
