Second culprit in the case of murderous assault on mother and son in Churaibari arrested

In a breakthrough in ongoing investigation the police in churaibari police station arrested the second culprits involved in the daylight murder of eight yearold boy Amrit Sinha and murderous assault on the life of his mother Bijaya Sinha (32) at Kherengbari area under Churaibari police station in Dharma Nagar subdivision. Police had earlier arrested the first culprit in the case of murder and assault, Madan Gopal Sinha (36) who is now in jail custody. Police sources said that the second arrestee Tapas Sinha (38), arrested today, was produced in court and police have secured his three day remand for interrogation.
The officer in charge of Churaibari police station Debabrata Biswas who had made the arrest said that it was on November 24 morning that Bijaya Sinha and her son Amrit were set upon by a group of culprits with sharp-cutting weapons on their way back home from school by then unknown criminals in Kherengbari area . While eight yearold Amrit died on the spot after being struck on head and chest by the killer squad, Bijaya Sinha survived the attack sustaining serious cut injuries. She is now under treatment in Silchar medical college and reportedly out of danger.
The OC Debabrata Biswas said that the reason for the attack was familial enmity and by interrogation the actual motive behind the assault and murder would be known. He said that other culprits involved in the murder are still absconding but will be arrested soon.
