Blood donation camp in Shalbagan BSF headquarter, !00 jawans and officers donate blood

As part of the civic action programme and public service a major voluntary blood donation camp came off yesterday in the Tripura frontier BSF headquarter at Shalbagan , north of Agartala yesterday. This was organised on the occasion of diamond jubilee of the founding of BSF in the year 1965. Altogether one hundred jawans and officers donated blood in the programme amidst great enthusiasm in the force including their family members.

The blood donation camps was unveiled by the IG BSF (Tripura Frontier) Alok Kumar Chakraborty by lighting a holy lamp in presence of his junior officers and a large number of jawans. Speaking to media persons after the camp IG Alok Kumar Chakraborty said that since the founding of BSF on December 1 1965 the border force has been performing with exemplary success the role of the country’s first line of defence while discharging its duties towards society and common people. “We have been doing this all along and the response from our jawans and officers has been overwhelming ; on the occasion of the diamond jubilee we have also organised blood donation camps in Nalkata and Bagma areas with great success” said Alok Kumar Chakraborty.
