Baikhora English medium school students meet in deputation with OC to protest political graffiti on school wall

In a heartening show of unity and concern for maintaining non-political nature of educational institutions, the students of Baikhora English medium school today met in deputation with the officer in charge of Baikhora police station to protest the writing of political slogans and graffiti on their school wall. As they arrived in the school at scheduled hour the students saw political graffiti in favour of SDI, student front of the opposition CPI (M), and got agitated . The immediately drafted a memorandum protesting the slogan writing on wall as part of an attempt to spoil the non-political and fair atmosphere of the school. The students formed a long a queue and proceeded to the nearby Baikhora police station in a disciplined manner and submitted the memorandum demanding heightened police patrolling and action against persons who had written the slogans on the wall of the school.

The officer in charge of the Baikhora political station Vishnu Chandra Das himself accepted the memorandum and assured the student delegation that he will take appropriate action in the matter, as demanded by them. Apart from this, the vice chairman of the Jolaibari panchayat samity Keshav Chowdhury also held discussion with the OC Vishnu Chandra Das on the matter and pressed him to be proactive in protecting the sanctity of the school and in bringing the culprits to the book.

Sources from Baikhora said that a gang of miscreants have been working to destabilise the peaceful ambience in the English Medium School but the police have remained inactive, They also alleged that the OC Vishnu Chandra Das who earned considerable notoriety after beating innocent students of a school in Santir Bazar leaves the police station every night and goes to his home at Agartala , giving charge of the police station to a junior officer though he returns next morning. Sources added that unless the OC himself is disciplined by higher authority the situation will continue to worsen.
