Governor visits Kailasahar, speaks to villagers in bordering villages and interacts with officials

The governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu today paid a daylong visit to the Kailasahar town, headquarter of Unakoti district, and took part in various programmes. Sources from Kailasahar said that the governor had arrived at Kailasahar around 10-00 in the morning today and took rest in the circuit house before heading for bordering areas to see the condition of –people.

He was accompanied by the DM (Unakoti) Tamal Majumder, secretary of the state government Uttam Kumar Chakma, SP (Unakoti) Sudhambika and other officials and local representatives of people. The governor visited the ‘Chaturdash Debta’ temple in bordering Khaorabil village and offered worship there. He also visited a number of bordering villages and spoke to the people there. Sources said that the governor had tried to know from the villagers whether they were getting benefits of various central schemes like the ‘PM Awas Tojana’, ‘Ujjawala Yojana’ gas connection, free ration, ‘Mudra Yojana’, Toilet etc. The villages informed the governor their problems in having access to the welfare schemes and the governor assured them that he will bring their responses to the notices of the government with his recommendations in their favour. He evinced keen interest in knowing whether the farmers in the bordering areas were getting benefits of subsidized fertilizer and ‘Ayushman Bharat’ yojana and was apprised of the issues raised by the villagers.

After this interaction the governor reached the bordering Debipur village and visited a fair organised by BSF in their Latiapura camp. Many members of self-help groups had opened stalls in the fair and the governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu spoke to them. He also visited the bordering Safarikandi village and spoke to the farmers there to assess the situation and know about the problems they are facing. The people of the bordering villages expressed their happiness over the visit of the governor and felt reassured of the care and concern of the state and central governments.
