After Belonia police employees attacked by miscreants owing allegiance to ruling party in Kumarghat

After the physical assault on the officer in charge of Belonia station merely for performing his official duty and filing of a false case against him by members and officer bearers of a club aligned with the ruling BJP , another group of miscreants affiliated with the ruling party assaulted and injured a police ASI and SPO in Kumarghat. Giving details of the incident, police sources said that on last Thursday night a complaint had reached a police patrol party that a gang of miscreants had been creating trouble in a local hotel named ‘Panchabyanjan’. After reaching the hotel premise the police party entered the hotel and asked the those shouting inside to stop and go home. This was around 10-00 in the night.

But enraged by the police intervention the gang of miscreants pursued the police patrol party and attacked them in Halaimura area after hurling vile invectives against them in Netaji Chaumuhuni. As the police party asked them again to leave the spot and return home, the miscreants led by local BJP workers Parashar Deb, Rajdip Deb and Kunal Shil assaulted the police personnel and beat them up , injuring ASI Dipak Reang and SPO jawan Ujjwal Debnath of Kumarghat police station . Both the personnel had to be hospitalized in Kumarghat. Sources said that the three miscreants had been later arrested by police but the incident has triggered a furore among common people in Kumarghat who have started questioning the overall security scenario in the state.
