Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarman on Friday said his recent meeting with Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has yielded positive results, paving the way for the resumption of talks on the Tiprasa accord in New Delhi.

Speaking in a live social media session, Debbarman said the deadlock over certain contentious issues appears to have ended. “I received a call from the Union Home Ministry confirming that discussions will resume soon. Even those who earlier had reservations have agreed to move forward,” he stated.

The meeting between Debbarman and Dr Saha came amid growing speculation of a rift between the BJP and Tipra Motha alliance. However, Pradyot’s remarks signal a renewed understanding between the partners ahead of future elections.

He also cautioned his supporters against using ethnic slurs online, saying such behaviour only fuels division. “Calling Bengalis Bangladeshis or Tiprasas Chinese must stop. This hatred weakens us from within,” he warned, urging unity among all communities.
