Final solution: another retrenched 10,323 teacher leaves for heavenly abode, toll now 216

In yet another heart-wrenching tragedy, a retrenched 10,323 group of teacher breathed his last yesterday in the morning at home after suffering from typhoid for more than a month.His death has raised the total toll of deceased retrenched teachers to 216 now when rest of his colleagues have been desperately trying to save their lives and livelihood through the tardy and insensitive judicial process .
Sources from Sonamura said that the deceased teacher Ananta Debbarma (37), a resident of Mogbari village in Motinagar panchayat under Sonamura subdivision, had been teachers of Mogbari junior basic school till his illegal retrenchment from April 1 2020. A member of day labourer family, Ananta had mentally broken down after being retrenched from service but had to revert to working as day labourer. But gradually he contracted various illnesses and recently he had fallen ill of typhoid and undergone treatment in Melaghar hospital from where he was referred to GBP hospital. It was only on last Sunday that he had returned home but fell ill again. He was shifted to Melaghar hospital but breathed his last yesterday in the morning.
When Ananta’s dead body was brought home his surviving wife Kalpana Debbarma (32) elder daughter Tanuka Debbarma (12), son Arpan Debbarma (6) and younger daughter Sayantika (5) burst into loud wailing along with other members of the family. Ananta’s death has cast a shadow of grief and mourning in the entire Motinagar panchayat as people blamed the government as well as the judiciary for the long series of deaths of the illegally retrenched teachers . Senior CPI (M) leaders of the Kulubari area under the Motinagar panchayat, Humayun Mia, Mizan Hossain, Ishak Mia and Humayun Kabir reached Ananta’s home and conveyed their condolences.
