NSM’s Students Have Started Internship in NABARD-Sponsored Company BAPCL in Tripura

A total of one hundred and thirty-five students from Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya (NSM) have shown interest in pursuing their internship programme under the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD)-sponsored company called Bagma Agri Producer Company Limited (BAPCL), at Bagma in the field of agriculture.

The inauguration ceremony of the internship programme has been organized today in the Conference Hall of the college. The dignitaries who have attended the event include Dr. Sudhan Debnath, Principal of NSM; Dr. Archana Dandabat, Associate Professor of NSM; Partha Sarathi Chakraborty, Teacher of NSM; Dr. Farukul Islam, CEO of BAPCL; Biswajit Debnath, Pradip Debnath, and Sayantika Majumder from BAPCL; and Kiran Bhowmik, Advisor of BAPCL.

Dr. Sudhan Debnath, Principal of NSM, has shared that the guideline of Tripura University under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has been incorporated as mandatory for students to complete in order to earn their undergraduate degree. The students have been required to undertake this internship for hands-on knowledge and practical experience. He has emphasized that the knowledge gained through the internship will help students to develop entrepreneurial and research-oriented skills. “Students will be able to take decisions according to their interests and capabilities,” Dr. Debnath has said.

Kiran Bhowmik, Advisor of BAPCL, has appreciated this initiative, stating that it has helped students grow with practical exposure. “The success of students comes with a mindset of laser-like focus, detachment, and consistency, which they have needed to maintain during their internship at BAPCL,” Bhowmik has added.

Dr. Farukul Islam, CEO of BAPCL, has elaborated on the activities of the company in the agricultural sector, which have included dairy, piggery, poultry, fishery, beekeeping, and other processing industries. He has mentioned that students from across India and abroad have come to the company for research and other collaborative activities in association with BAPCL.
