Idol Vandalism Sparks Tension in Udaipur Ahead of Durga Puja, No Arrests Yet

A shocking incident occurred in Udaipur, Gomati district, ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations, after miscreants vandalized idols at the Brahmabari Social Development Committee’s puja pandal. The act has triggered outrage and tension across the locality.

According to local sources, members of the puja committee discovered the damage early yesterday morning when they reached the pandal. Several parts of the idol were found broken, sparking anger among residents.

On receiving the information, Gomati District Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar, along with senior police officials, rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. A dog squad was also brought in to assist the investigation. However, no concrete clues were found at the site.

Police have started reviewing CCTV footage from the pandal premises to identify the culprits. Despite heavy deployment of security forces and intensive searches, no arrests have been made so far.

The incident has left residents shocked and furious, with demands for immediate action to nab the miscreants and ensure the safety of Durga Puja festivities in Udaipur.
