To ensure a peaceful, well-coordinated, and successful celebration of the upcoming Durga Puja festival across all districts, the state administration has laid out detailed guidelines and assigned specific responsibilities to concerned authorities and Puja committees after holding consultative meetings in each district.

Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), line departments, police, Tripura State Rifles, Fire & Emergency Services, and health officials have been instructed to work in close coordination with local Puja committees to prevent any lapses in safety, security, or overall management.

As part of the directives, Sub-Divisional level consultation meetings have already been held with all Puja committees. Organisers are required to obtain prior approval for pandal construction and prepare disaster management or contingency plans. Every Puja committee must also designate a nodal officer along with an alternate officer, who will be directly accountable for safety and security during the celebrations.

The Puja organisers have been further instructed to secure mandatory ‘No Objection Certificates’ (NOC) from relevant departments, including police, fire and emergency services, PWD, health, and local bodies such as municipalities or panchayats, before proceeding with pandal installations. To ensure effective monitoring, Sub-Divisional Safety Committees will be formed with the involvement of local administration and line departments.

Emphasis has also been placed on protecting road infrastructure. Puja committees must ensure that road blacktopping remains intact while erecting decorative gates, lighting arches, or temporary structures. Meanwhile, SDMs have been directed to establish help desks at major pandals with shaded seating facilities for Civil Defence and Apada Mitra volunteers to assist in crowd management.

On the security front, Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) have been directed to increase naka checking points within their jurisdictions to strengthen vigilance and maintain law and order throughout the festive period.

The state administration has appealed to all Puja committees, departments, and agencies to work in close coordination so that Durga Puja is celebrated in a safe, disciplined, and joyous atmosphere across Tripura.
